Integrated from powder to finished edge

Because pressing, sintering and grinding happen under one quality system, we can hold grade consistency batch after batch — the single factor that most affects tool life in your grinding shop.

  • Rods pressed by molding or extrusion, sintered in low-pressure sinter-HIP furnaces
  • Ground to h5, h6 or −0.005 mm with end chamfers and Weldon flats
  • Straight coolant-hole and two-helix-hole rods for drill and reamer makers
  • OEM/ODM tools and non-standard blanks produced to your drawing

Process Control from Tungsten Powder to Precision Edge

Five controlled stages — each with its own inspection gate — explain why APEX rods grind predictably and why our tools hold size across reorders.

Tungsten carbide powder preparation and pressing at APEX
[ Stage 01 ]

Powder Preparation, Molding & Extrusion

Over 20 years of in-house experience with tungsten powder lets us tune grain size and cobalt binder for each grade. Rods are formed by die pressing or extrusion depending on length and hole design.

  • Grain size control
  • Die pressing
  • Extrusion up to 330 mm

Low-Pressure Sinter-HIP Integration

Sintering and pressure densification in one furnace cycle closes residual porosity, giving higher transverse rupture strength and more reliable edges on your finished tools.

  • Near-zero porosity
  • Uniform hardness
  • Batch traceability

Answers for International Buyers

The questions sourcing managers and tool engineers ask us most often before a first order.

Request a Catalog
What is the minimum order quantity?

Standard carbide rods and tools start from 1 piece, and samples are available so you can validate grade, tolerance and finish on your own grinders before scaling up.

What is the typical lead time?

Typical delivery is 7–25 days depending on diameter, grade, finishing (unground, ground, chamfered, coated) and batch size. Stock rod blanks ship fastest; drawing-based tools follow sample approval.

Which tolerances can you grind carbide rods to?

Rods are supplied unground or centerless ground to common tolerances such as h5, h6 or −0.005 mm, with end chamfers and Weldon flats available on request.

Can you manufacture carbide parts to my drawing?

Yes. We provide OEM/ODM manufacturing of non-standard carbide blanks, custom drills, end mills, saw blades and wear parts according to your drawings or physical samples.

What is your production capacity?

APEX operates 3 factories with more than 500 workers and 200+ professionals. Standard tool lines are rated at up to 1,000,000 pieces per month, supporting both trial orders and long-term supply programs.
